Gluttony

I spent some time on the Navarre Fishing Pier Friday late afternoon. There was a lot of activity because of a fishing event being hosted by the pier. These images took place after the other pelican was saved.

Here’s the story behind the images –

The fisherman gave the pelican a small fish he caught. He then threw a second fish to him. But he couldn’t enjoy the second fish because he couldn’t even swallow his first one . . . But he kept trying time and time again. Eventually, the pelican spit out the second fish – a second pelican stole the fish and then pursued the first pelican as he continued to try and swallow the first fish.

All I could see is gluttony. Wanting more than is needed. Gorging. Over indulging. Hoarding.

There are a LOT of pictures – but it’s important to see the pattern that continues to lay out before us . . . Click each image for it to enlarge. This really is an incredible creature our Lord created.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20
