As women, many of us are usually pretty good at sharing stories and elaborating about the great deals we got at the store, those perfect shoes, that great outfit, an amazing end table we picked up for $10 and refurbished, or even describing a cup of coffee like it was laced in gold . . . but this morning I am thinking about how often we tear ourselves down – or even each other – instead of building each other up.
Do you know your worth?
Do you know how valuable you are?
It’s something I struggle with every day – a battle that I constantly have to fight is comparison – not so much that I want what others have monetarily like homes or fancy things but my expectations of myself are so high that I find I disappoint myself day after day.
So today – no comparing and no beating myself up.
And even if I couldn’t find anything good about me at all (and most of us can) one Truth remains – Jesus loves me.
He loves you, too.
He offered His life as a sacrifice for your sin.
And for mine.
Today, I will draw out the positives of Whose I am and focus on the gifts God has given me instead of my failures.
Today, I will focus on taking my thoughts captive INTENTIONALLY and fill my thoughts with encouraging Truths.
Today, I will take control of the raging battle in my mind.
Psalm 139:14, I praise you, Lord, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know them well.
