When God Calls

There are times in my life I have seen the hand of God move through others on my behalf.

And there have been times God has used me to touch others lives as well.

Those are life changing moments.

Today, God gave me another experience to add to my memory bank and to testify to His faithfulness.

I had just left from the Charis House doing my morning walk with the ladies when I noticed I had a missed call on my phone from a friend. This friend lives out of town but is visiting home for a few days. We catch up by phone and she tells me she was at our churches prayer garden so I quickly turned around and went back to see her – but what unfolded can only be described as divine intervention.

She couldn’t believe I sent her a text right as she had gotten to the prayer garden.

I explained I only sent it because of the missed call.

It was sorta a confusing moment.

She looks at me like I had lost my mind –

She says, “I didn’t call you.”

But my phone said otherwise.

She insists she didn’t call.

Looks at her phone and it shows she called me.

All she could say over and over was that she didn’t call me.

My friends, I don’t have to understand it.

I don’t have to try and figure it out.

But God –

He wants us to all know that He is with us.

Even when we might feel alone.

Even when we might be questioning our purpose.

Even when our children are going through the crucible or when we ourselves are –

He. Is. With. Us.

And He can use any and every thing – even technology – to put someone in our path to embrace us the way He wants us to be embraced.

This reminds of someone in the jungle taking pictures of the wild. Such a great picture of a friend doing what she loves doing and is so good at!

Oh Father, thank you for divine appointments. Thank you for men and women You put in our paths to nurture and grow us in You. Thank you for loving us more than we can even fathom. Today Lord I pray for the men and women going through the treacherous Marine training known as the crucible. Meet the physical and mental needs they have this very moment. Satisfy their hunger and give them the physical endurance they need to successfully meet the goal of becoming a United States Marine. And Father, for those of us walking through our own forms of the crucible – spiritually, emotionally, and even physically, I ask you to do the same – satisfy our hunger for You and give us the mental, physical, and emotional endurance needed to be a light in a dark world. Give us wisdom to use our trials for Your glory and Your glory alone. Continue to grow us in to Who it is You plan for us to be and use us to touch the lives You want us to touch in Jesus’ name and for His glory. Thank you for showing me today just how far you will go to show your children . . . your daughter’s . . . that we are never alone. You absolutely rock my world. Faith in You is unlike anything I’ve ever seen or experienced. I love you, Lord. Amen
