The day began well before sunrise but look what the Lord gave us as the sun was rising this morning!
These pictures just don’t do it justice. The picture of the side of the mountain – the trees are actually colored beautifully. Everyone walking in out and of the gas station had their eyes on the sky. All week the Lord has shown me what I miss when looking down and at what is right in front of me. Once in a store, I was shopping and something caught my attention above my head. For an hour I had walked around and missed the beautiful decor covering the ceiling. I sensed the Lord whisper, “look up more often, Stacey”. Later in the week, a similar experience – and then again this morning.
I love the old time country music – like when country music was country music.
Several years ago I found myself in a not so good place. The memories that came along with that music began messing with my head and those memories went from haunting me to taunting me. I stopped listening to secular music after that. (I’m not saying you shouldn’t listen to secular music, I am simply saying with my history and past I must be intentional on what goes in my ears.) When I travel I miss that old country music so I will allow myself to hear a few songs and then move on. This morning I found an old southern gospel channel and the song playing was about the sun rising in the morning. The link below isn’t the exact song I heard, but it’s similar in meaning. And yes, it was playing as the sun was rising over the tree tops.
Maybe you are like me and have been keeping your eyes on your circumstances. Maybe you get so bogged down in life and going through the motions that you too, forget to look up from time to time. Isn’t it wonderful to find out you aren’t alone? Aren’t you thankful for a God who loves us and wants the best for us? Aren’t you thankful for a God of second, third, fourth, and a thousand chances? Meeeee to!
Have a beautiful today today, looking up!
