Have you ever made, what you thought, were the most perfect laid out plans?
And then they turn out to be disastrous?
Me too –
But what I recently learned from a “well planned event” that turned in to – what I thought was a disaster – is that God was there with me in my mess.
And it was exactly what I needed.
A time of filling. Walking. Talking. Reading. Sitting. Resting. Eating new foods. Not worrying or trying to borrow trouble. Listening – even in His silence. And every time I would start to wonder about my kids I just thanked God for giving me two days to recharge my battery.
Even though it didn’t go as I had planned – it was perfect. I tried new foods. Sat in silence. Went to a concert. Had lunch with a friend. And attended my favorite – The Charis House graduation for phase 1 ladies.
And the weekend ended with the Charis House Graduation
A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Thank you, Lord for doing what is best for me. Thank you for guiding my steps and letting me rest. For the ones that aren’t fortunate to take off for two days allow them times to sit with you. Quicken our spirits to see you in every day life. Fill us. Thank you for all the times you did that for me before I could be so fortunate to do this. Thank you for loving me through my messiness. Amen.
