Oh. My. Lands Ya’ll!!I have to say, It’s not very often I am proud of the results I have when I try new recipes or anything from scratch. It usually turns in to a science project gone bad.Seriously.I’ve been without refined sugar for fourteen days.It has not been easy.In fact, I have had more detox challenges from sugar than I did from alcohol twenty years ago. I had migraines for the first nine days and a mild headache since then. Body aches and worse pains than I’ve experienced with autoimmune to date. In fact, the detox symptoms brought on a flare up.It has truly been rough and I’ve even questioned my sanity through these fourteen days. I can’t say I am happy about this, but when the Lord wakes you up saying, “no sugar” you know it’s time.There are some things God has taken the desire to have away. One example is french vanilla creamer in my coffee. 😱 Never in a million years did I ever expect that to happen. I’ve been using unsweetened almond milk. The first week I could hardly drink it, but with each day it is becoming satisfying. Other things, I crave like crazy – . like Ranch dressing. And a big fat juicy hamburger on white bread with mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and cheese . 😩 After I got through the first nine days I was tired of the same ole same ole foods and began my search for meals without sugars that wouldn’t cost a fortune to make. In my search for meal ideas I stumbled on a recipe called Dump Ranch.Holy macaroni Batman! It’s a substitute for Ranch Dressing!And I made it this afternoon y’all. It is so amazing I could eat it by the spoonfuls!!!Even my very picky “what is that ingredient” husband likes it!I don’t know how long it will take before I feel like a human again, but I am hopeful, based on my research and another friend’s experience, that soon I will feel like a new person.And if not – well – at least I can say I was obedient. And I have a new favorite dressing! Right?!
