Christmas Vacation

I have family not on facebook so am uploading hundreds of pictures for them to see from our recent trip to Virginia and Pigeon Forge. We had a wonderful time. During one of our drives through Tennessee my youngest daughter said, “I keep thinking about the song, “Hills and Valleys” driving through all these mountains.” I’ve continued to hear those words over the few days. Here are the lyrics and I’ll place a link for you to listen to the song as well. How amazing our Lord would give such insight to a 12 year old child and how amazing it would be the words her mother would need to hear the most.

I’ve walked among the shadows
You wiped my tears away
And I’ve felt the pain of heartbreak
And I’ve seen the brighter days
And I’ve prayed prayers to heaven from my lowestplace
And I have held the blessings
God, you give and take away
No matter what I have, Your grace is enough
No matter where I am, I’m standing in Your love
On the mountains, I will bow my life
To the one who set me there
In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there
When I’m standing on the mountain aft, didn’t get there on my own
When I’m walking through the valley end, no I am not alone!
You’re God of the hills and valleys!
Hills and Valleys!
God of the hills and valleys
And I am not alone!
I’ve watched my dreams get broken
In you I hope again!
No matter what I know
Know
These are from Virginia. You should be able to click on each picture to enlarge the ones you want to see larger.

And these are from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. A large portion of the river was frozen but it was still gorgeous. If you can zoom in on the angel you will see she is holding a dove. At the end of the Christmas story of the stampede show they released a dove which flew across the auditorium and flew to the angel. It was amazing. While my children probably enjoyed Wonder Works the most, the Dixie Stampede dinner and show was definitely the highlight for me, other than the views. The aquarium was fun and we enjoyed the bottomless boat ride but I didn’t take my good camera in for that adventure.
