But . . . .

I have shared it before, ‘but’ one of my favorite words used in scriptures is the word, “but.” So often it is used as the turning point in a passage that takes us from gloom to victory.

Several weeks ago I surrendered an area of my life I have been holding on to for six years. There’s a known fact in any addiction meeting once you relapse it gets harder and harder to come back with each relapse. It’s the same way with sins of disobedience. Humiliating shame keeps you away. Embarrassement. Disgust. All the lies the evil one wants you to believe . . . “You are a failure. Everyone knows. You know you can’t do that, you will always fail. No one really cares so why should you?”

Oh the lies just go on and on and on . . . until one day the breaking point hits  . . .

Four weeks ago I turned back . . . made that intentional turning point in an area I gave up on six years ago. I am angry with myself for wasting six years of my life in that area of disobedience, but am thankful for the newness He has given me . . . that the moment I turned around, my Lord was right there . . . waiting on me to return . . .  with open arms. Just like the father of the prodical son that returned to his father.

All morning a song has continued to play in my mind . . . the first few lines nail the lies so many women carry and believe about themselves . . . we believe the lies in the mirror and all the negatives satan wants us to believe instead of the truths of our Creator. So for anyone struggling with believing who you are, know this . . . God created you for a purpose. You have a gift no one else will ever be able to duplicate. He has a plan for your life that only you can fill. You are valuable. Treasured. Irreplaceable. And you are loved . . . exactly where you are right now. Loved. And you are beautiful.

Priceless

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
Tellin’ those lies, pointing out your flaws
That isn’t who you are
That isn’t who you are

It might be hard to hear,
But let me tell you, dear
If you could see what I can see, I know you would believe
That isn’t who you are
There’s more to who you are

So when it’s late,
You’re wide awake
Too much to take
Don’t you dare forget that in the pain
You can be brave,
Hear me say

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you
Oh, so priceless
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you
Oh, so priceless

No matter what you’ve heard,
This is what you’re worth
More than all the money or the diamonds and pearls
Oh, this is who you are
Yeah, this is who you are

So when it’s late,
You’re wide awake
Too much to take
Don’t you dare forget
That in the pain
You can be brave,
Hear me say

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you
Oh, so priceless
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you
Oh, so priceless

Sisters, we can start again
Give honor ’til the end
Love, we can start again

Brothers, we can start again
Give honor ’til the end
Yeah, we can start again

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you
Oh, so priceless
You’re irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you
Oh, so priceless

[3x:]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
Oh, so priceless
