I Believe

I believe ‘things’ happen (John 16:33).

I believe God can use ANY circumstance for His good (Romans 8:28)

I believe God’s plan is better than my knowledge (Jeremiah 29:11).

I believe.

Through no fault of anyone, our family is facing some challenges.

Three and a half years ago, we took over the mortgage payments, property taxes, and homeowners insurance from our MIL. She was at a place where she needed help, and we were limited to what we could do to help because at the time Chris has just lost his job. It was a win/win situation.

Here we are, these three and a half years later, learning a hard lesson, waiting, and believing. Believing God has a plan.

Because we did not pay fair market value for the home, we have had to sign the home back over to our MIL in order for her to move into a nursing home, or Medicaid would not cover her expenses. The laws regarding Medicaid are a doozie; and while the attorney we spoke to said we could take it to court and would more than likely win, my MIL would lose, as would my extended family that is caring for her.

We do not know the timeline we have to stay in the house, but we do know the state is actively seizing all homes due to the condition of the government. They have had the ‘right’ do this all along; however, it has only been in recent years they have actively pursued this option.

We need your prayers.

If you have known me for long, you know we have struggled the last several years. There is no savings, no good credit after several years of unemployment, and we are living with a very limited budget. I’ve been pursuing every lead, praying, and asking as many questions as I can until we find the home the Lord wants us to have.

My children ask daily, “Where is God going to move us?” I answer Him daily, “He hasn’t shown me yet, but I know He will.” They ask daily, “How do you know?” I answer, “Because He has always taken care of us and I believe the scriptures.”

Kaitlyn is concerned for her schooling, which I have assured her won’t be an issue.

Christopher just wants to keep his dog . . .

Not only are my two legged people affected by this, but the four legged ones. The first thing my children asked when we told them we believe God is preparing us for a move, wasn’t what toys they could take, but what about the animals we have rescued. Now I totally get that for some, this shouldn’t even be an issue, but it is for my family. This is hard. Harder than some will understand. I treasure your prayers as we continue to search for the right home for Nala. We also have a brother and sister that have been together always. They must stay together. It breaks my heart to even have to write that and honestly, the tears won’t stop. The pain is not only in my own heart for our pets, but knowing the pain that is yet to come for my kids.  It’s crushing.

God has instantly shut some doors during the last week.

Those were tough, but . . .

I believe ‘things’ happen (John 16:33).

I believe God can use ANY circumstance for His good (Romans 8:28)

I believe God’s plan is better than my knowledge (Jeremiah 29:11).

I believe.
